Help Ace Beat Cancer
Meet Our Super Hero Ace
Ace is a beloved sanctuary horse at Hosanna Horse Haven who needs surgery to remove a rapidly growing tumor.

Ace's Story
Ace is a beloved member of the Hosanna Horse Haven family. Like so many horses here, his life matters deeply to the people who care for him and to the students who have connected with him.Recently, Ace developed a rapidly growing condition that requires surgery. Our veterinarian believes the procedure is necessary to protect his long-term health and comfort. The surgery is scheduled soon because waiting could allow the condition to worsen. As a small nonprofit horse sanctuary, unexpected medical needs like this can place a heavy financial burden on the farm. But we believe that when a community comes together, incredible things can happen. We are inviting our community to become Ace’s Angels — supporters who are helping make this surgery possible.

Meet Ace,Why Ace Matters
Ace is as playful as he is handsome. He is incredibly loving and forms deep connections with the students who spend time with him at Hosanna Horse Haven. One of his favorite things in the world is liberty work, where he runs, plays, and freely chooses connection with people. Watching Ace move freely in the arena is something many of our students never forget. But Ace’s story has not always been easy. He first came to us when his family experienced a divorce and could no longer keep him. Since then, Ace was adopted twice, but both times he was returned. Because of this, we made the decision that Ace will remain here as a sanctuary horse, where he will always have a home and never experience another return. At Hosanna Horse Haven, every horse has a purpose and a story. These horses are not just animals on a farm. They help people heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. Ace is part of that mission. Your support doesn’t just help Ace — it helps continue the work of Humans Healing Horses, Horses Healing Humans™.
Why we need you .
Friends of Hosanna Horse Haven — we need your help.
One of our beloved horses, Ace, is facing a serious medical challenge.
Over the past several months, Ace has developed a rapidly growing tumor. After veterinary consultation, we have been working with the equine department at Ohio State University to determine the best course of treatment.
We have already invested $1,300 in diagnostics and care to get to this point.
We have now received an updated estimate of $4,500–$5,000 for surgery and recovery.
This brings the total cost of care for Ace to approximately $6,000–$6,300.
For a small nonprofit like ours, this is a significant and urgent need.
But Ace is not just a horse here.
He is part of the healing work that happens every day at Hosanna Horse Haven.
Through our rescued horses, we see lives changed:
-
children building confidence
-
veterans working through trauma
-
individuals learning trust and connection again
Now Ace needs us.
We are asking our community to come together as Ace’s Angels to help cover the cost of his surgery and care.
If you feel led to give, every donation — no matter the amount — truly makes a difference.
At Hosanna Horse Haven, we believe deeply in this truth:
Humans Healing Horses, Horses Healing Humans™
Ace has helped so many.
Now it’s our turn to help him.
Updates will be posted here as we continue this journey.
Surgery and Ace UPDATES
Monday March 16, 2026
Ohio State University
Ace will be evaluated Monday at The Ohio State Veterinary Hospital. If the exam shows the cancer has not spread, surgery is planned for Tuesday.
After consulting with veterinarians and The Ohio State University Veterinary School, Ace is now scheduled for a full evaluation Monday with surgery planned for Tuesday.
Because of the rapid growth of the tumor, the veterinarians have advised that moving forward quickly gives Ace the best chance for a positive outcome.
Ace will stay at OSU for 2–3 days of recovery before returning home to finish healing here at Hosanna Horse Haven.
We are moving forward with surgery because time is of the essence for Ace.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has stepped up to help Ace. Every donation, share, and message of support is helping us move closer to getting him the surgery he needs.
Your kindness reminds us how powerful community can be.
Because of you, Ace is surrounded by people who care deeply about his future.
From all of us at Hosanna Horse Haven, thank you for being one of Ace’s Angels.
Because the tumor has been growing rapidly, the veterinarians recommended that we move forward as quickly as possible to give Ace the best chance for a good outcome.
Ace will likely remain at OSU for 2–3 days after surgery for recovery before returning home to finish healing here at Hosanna Horse Haven.
This week will be full of travel, waiting, and hoping — but we are incredibly grateful for the community that has stepped up to help Ace.
Ace Update – We Need Your Help
We received some encouraging news today.
Ace has had his testing done and the markers are looking good. He is also being treated for his eye (even though he doesn’t love it ).
The next step is surgery this Thursday.
To move forward, we need to raise at least $2,000–$2,500 immediately.
If Ace’s story has touched your heart…
If you believe in the work he does helping his students—at-risk youth, those who have been bullied, experienced abuse, struggled with substance use, or have walked through deep loss…
Now is the time to help Ace.
We cannot move forward with surgery without the support of our community.
Every donation—no matter the size—brings us closer to giving Ace the chance to heal and continue helping others.

Thursday: Today is the big day… Ace comes home to continue his recovery 🩵
We are so grateful for every prayer, message, and bit of support that has carried us to this point. We are asking for continued prayers for a safe and smooth trip home. We’ll be stopping often to check on him, let him rest, and make sure he’s comfortable every step of the way.
We still need a little more help with donations as we continue his care and recovery. If you’ve been following Ace’s journey and feel led to give, it truly makes a difference for him and the students who love him.
Thank you for being on this journey with us. Your support means more than words can say.
We’ll continue to share updates on his progress—and once he’s feeling stronger, we would love for those who have been cheering him on to come visit him 🐴
Ace is out of surgery and we are now waiting as he begins recovery.
The team at Ohio State is taking great care of him, and we are trusting the process one step at a time.
Thank you for all of the prayers, messages, and support today. It means more than we can say.
We will share more updates as we learn more.

Saturday:
Ace has been through so much.
He doesn’t quite seem like himself right now… and honestly, that’s understandable after everything his body has gone through just to save his life.
We’re praying over him—for comfort as we get him settled back at home, and for complete healing and restoration… physically and emotionally.
It’s been another long day, but we are about 30 minutes from home.
Thank you for every prayer, every message, every donation, and every bit of love you’ve poured into Ace and our program. We feel it, and so does he.
We’ll keep you updated as he continues his recovery 💙
